Dear Mike,
I want to thank you and everyone at Finyl Vinyl for the excellent job of installing my new patio cover. I could not be happier with the results. It looks great and is such an improvement over my old cover.
Your crew was remarkable. I could not believe they completed the project in one day. I have had nothing but compliments from everyone who has seen it. Patio pavers are in now and that really sets off that beautiful cover.
Thank you again for the excellent service and putting up with my constant changing start dates.
I will be recommending you to anyone I know wanting a new cover. You all are awesome.
Sincerely,
K Youngchild

PATIO COVER QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD BE ASKING YOURSELF
DOES MY PERGOLA KIT COME STANDARD WITH METAL INSERTS IN ALL THE RAFTERS?
Many companies will ask you to buy wood inserts for all your rafters. Finyl Vinyl sends metal inserts for every rafter over 8’ Long.
THE PICTURE LOOKS GOOD, BUT HOW BIG AND STRONG ARE THE ACTUAL PIECES THAT THIS IS MADE WITH?
Ask what the sizes are of the profiles that make the products. It may look like it has a 2” x 6” beam and it is actually a 2” x 3.5” which is usually used for a small rail job.
IS THIS STRUCTURE ABLE TO STAND UP TO WIND AND SNOW LOADS?
Once again, SIZE MATTERS! Does the kits have long larger pieces or is it a bunch of small pieces that can be sent UPS and requires so many screws that the first snow storm it blows over!
CAN I INSTALL MY OWN VINYL PATIO COVER?
Actually a vinyl patio cover is much easier to install then a wood patio cover. The hardest part is setting the posts and after that everything pretty much either slides together or screws together. Everything is precut to what ever the layout is. Vinyl is a lot less heavy and awkward to work with then wood. Most patio covers can be built in less than one day with one person with general building experience and a helper.
WHAT OPTIONS ARE THERE FOR POSTS?
Most posts come standard as 5” x 5” posts. That is slightly bigger then 3.5” x 3.5” posts that a wood patio cover is normally built with. There are what we call vinyl “transition” posts that start at the bottom as 5” transition to 4” in the middle, and end up 5” at the top. It is a nice look to break up the long look of the same size post. You can also use either vinyl or composite round columns. These columns usually come in either 8” or 10” diameters. Once you get into composite posts there are many different sizes and sizes, but keep in mind that composite posts usually require some kind of painting.
CAN I HANG ANYTHING FROM MY VINYL PATIO COVER?
Yes. Keep in mind that every rafter over 8’ has a metal insert in it.
CAN I ORDER A CUSTOM SIZE OR DESIGN?
Yes. We tell people that the only thing that is the same with our patio covers is that they are all different! There are almost always custom things to install around, or special needs for attachment. This is where people get into trouble ordering online if they buy a “kit” from an online vendor that has no way of customizing an order. And the customer finds out after the fact, and it becomes a big hassle finding someone to fix the product in a timely and not too expensive manner.
About Patio Covers
Patio covers are designed to keep the sun out of certain areas of your outdoor patio. Typically, people place seating areas underneath patio covers due to the provided shade, and they make excellent places to create an enjoyable ambiance for outdoor gatherings, summer nights, or anything else. Patio covers are typically created using wood slats and rafters, but with Finyl Vinyl, we create our patio covers out of lightweight, but incredibly sturdy vinyl posts and rafters with metal inserts. Some of our patio covers are completely solid, providing total coverage for your patio, while others have slats that let a little light in.
Patio Cover Choices
At Finyl Vinyl there are a number of patio cover options to choose from. Whether you want a patio cover for aesthetic looks, functionality, or both, you’re sure to find one of our patio cover choices to do the job. You can choose from the following:
• Cardiff: The Cardiff choice is affordable, attractive and easy to install. It offers sleek slats that allow the sun to peak through, and can be attached to the home, or made to standalone over certain areas in the yard. It comes in sizes from 8’x8’ to 24’x16’ depending upon your size needs. The Cardiff is especially popular because it can be easily adjusted and configured to accommodate any and all difficult situations that may arise when attaching one of these units to your home. For color, choose white or tan, and enjoy the easy to use additions that make it easy to install on your own. If, however, you need help, Finyl Vinyl has associates that will install it for you!
• Palomar: The Palomar choice is made after the classic wood pergola style. It varies in sizes from 8’x8’ to 24’x16’ and may come larger if requested. This is possibly the style most familiar to people around the world, giving your backyard a truly “at home” look. It’s perfect for those breezy days where a little sun is just right. This choice comes with multiple picket designs and features and an easy to install kit, amongst other additions.
• Arcadia: The Arcadia patio cover offers complete and full coverage for your patio. Not only does it increase your living space by giving you an outside space that doesn’t feel like it’s totally “outside,” but it also requires absolutely no roofing material and little to no maintenance. This choice is perfect for protecting your patio and family from all types of weather and outdoor elements. It’s waterproof, has an insulated top, and an aluminum structure to keep it sturdy and standing tall.
